Anyone can learn to draw if they put in the effort. Even me! As Banksy said, If all artists are prepared to suffer for their work, why are so few prepared to learn how to draw? Well, I'm learning, and so far I've picked up some useful and interesting styles and techniques:

These two graphite drawings use an interesting technique. A layer of graphite is layed down, then the drawing is done using a variety of erasers and torchons:




See what a little photoshop can do...
A great technique for drawing grey hair: scratch into a heavy paper with a sharp (ish) edge, they lightly shade over it to create thin, white hairs:

I drew this charcoal image from a photographic negative of a statue. I then switched my drawing back to
a postive, using photoshop. It creates an interesting texture, resembling stone and skin, with amazing deep black shadows:
