These little fellows are found in hedgerows throughout Britain. They love to hide down rabbit holes and in the deepest, thickest and prickliest hedges. Hedge-layers have known of these little imps for a long time, and anyone who has had a go will probably have caught a glimpse of a scurrying hedge imp from the corner of their eye.
