This appears to be a male hedge-imp, because it is sitting on a nest. Unlike most non-magical species, the male hedge-imp sits on the eggs. This is pointles showever, because females don't lay eggs, and can never find a male when they need one. Saying that, once you corner one they will do pretty much whatever you tell them to.
